Now that my granddaughters are back on the farm,  we are all thrilled they are ignited with passion these days taking over the old cafe kitchen and the food products they are making from the farm goods. They have been out at markets and connecting with the community and other artisans in our area. Their art and craft skills are fully employed when they are buzzing away with it and everyone is willing to help where they can. 

They’ve been scouring over the farm’s library shelves for information and instruction about cooking and crafting with nature and the seasons. It has been a thrill for us all as they put it into action. I have loved having my mother’s fig jam back on the table after all of these years. And the candles with our pressed flowers! I am one of their happy customers, that is for sure. 

They’ve also been picking my brain to find a way to invite more people to jump into the Navigating with Nature program that we have on the farmstead. Their plans have been underway and it is seeming ready to me to put into practice. We don’t have our farm gates open right now for hosting but they have built a place on the internet to bring our recipes, tools and resources to share. I don’t know a thing about the interwebby ways they are going about, but that’s no matter for my me, because I know my role here on the farm and they have taken up the reins of their’s.
